The early morning, direct flight from PIT to FLL provided opportunity for us to explore the Hollywood Beach area with three other couples. I prearranged a transfer using LJ Transport out of Hollywood, Florida. Phillip went out of his way to accommodate the eight of us. He even connected the van to a trailer to haul the huge amount of luggage we carried. He transferred us to the Riptide Hotel on the Hollywood Beach. The hotel was clean; the staff exceptional; and the location could not have been better. We enjoyed the Tiki-hut Lounge throughout the evening. The moon rise above the black sea was an awesome experience and a perfect start to a great vacation.

After a great sleep; a beautiful sunrise; and a fantastic breakfast; Phillip (LJ Transport) returned to take us to the Port of Miami. Once at the ship, he asked us to remain on the van while he unloaded all of our luggage (18 pieces total) in the pouring down rain. He shuttled us and our luggage to a portico to keep us from getting wet. He provided excellent care with a smile. I strongly recommend his services and will use him again.

The noon arrival brought about the easiest embarkation ever. We were on the ship by 12:30 and easily made our way to upper decks to check out the beautiful ship. This is one of the best looking ships I've seen. The décor and accoutrements are very nice. The designer truly did a wonderful job depicting the impressionist period. The artwork is seamless and blends well with the architecture.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8B

This is one of the best looking ships we've seen. Compared to other cabins we've enjoyed (Princess and Holland) we feel the Carnival balcony staterooms are the roomiest and make great use of storage. There is ample storage. Recommendations for the novice - place a vertical hanging shoe caddy over the bathroom door to allow extra storage of toiletries. It's easy to access and especially helpful if two are trying to get dressed at the same time. Another recommendation: carry a small multi-outlet strip (3 plugs is all that is necessary) to recharge electronics used throughout the stay. The beds are especially comfortable, pillows are plentiful and various firmness to meet both our preferences. The cabin steward was faithful and attentive to our needs. Our room was always cleaned and plenty of towels and necessities throughout the week. One of our favorite past times is to enjoy the morning on the balcony watching the ship come into port or see the sunrise. We are undecided on weather or not we will return to another Carnival cruise; but if we do it will be because of this ship and the accommodations she provides. We enjoyed exploring her and all her splendor.
