The Grandeur of the Seas is about the right size ship for me, as I have cruise on many larger ships. Since this was my 1st time at Diamond Level on RCL, I was very interested to learn how well they would treat Diamond level guests in comparison to other cruiselines that I have experienced the same level benefits. I chose this cruise because it is within driving distance of the major cruise ports that I usually cruise from such as NY and NJ.

Embarkation was quick and easy for getting onto the ship. But the luggage handling at the Baltimore port is lacking because they are overly aggressive on holding luggage at security for personal fans, liqueur etc. Somehow my luggage was tagged with the name of someone else although my tags were still on it. The food was never served hot at dinner. The Diamond Lounge was great and excellent. I particularly enjoyed the loading of the cruise card with complimentary drinks each night. The entertainment onboard was good. I additionally liked that they showed movies in the main theater on several occasions. I enjoyed the room service including eggs and bacon in the morning with coffee. Overall, this cruise was fun and enjoyable, and an average cruise experience.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin I

The cabin was a decent size although the shower was smaller than what I have seen on other ships. Cabin steward was great, but the sink in my particular cabin had a very slow faucet of which the maintenance staff were clueless on fixing, there was an extremely cloaked aerator and overly restricted water blocking piece. The cabin had a good oceanview. The bed was uncomfortable, saggy, and very low to the floor.
