I am not new to cruising. However, I'm new to cruising out of NYC, this is my second time doing it and I love it. The cab fare from Brooklyn to Manhattan was only 50 bucks. Check in was prompt and smooth. The safety/evacuation meeting was brief but informative. I loved the overall design and décor of this vessel. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our balcony room was not massive but comfortable and kept clean by the housekeeping staff. The food at the buffet was decent. I absolutely loved their pretzel/bread rolls. I didn't eat at any of the specialty restaurants because the buffet was good enough, some nights better than others. After hours, O'Sheehans Restaurant was the only place to go and they had plenty of great options. The fish and chips, chicken pot pie and the wings were great. The Burger Joint on Deck 15 was awesome. The entertainment was good. I attended the Rock of Ages and also the improvisational comedy show, I was satisfied with both performances. Also the welcome on board show hosted by the cruise director (J.C Sanchez) in the theater was dynamic and full of energy and great little preview of what was yet to come. I loved Karaoke and the game shows (Family Feud, Jeopardy) that were held in the mid-ship out in the open for everyone to see. The group Fire and Ice did a tremendous job of singing and keeping the Norwegian crowd entertained. Club Bliss was hit and miss, The D.J would over indulge sometimes with the Latin Music. I understand that you want to cater to all crowds but it seemed to me that he played an enormous amount of Latin Music. Some nights it was slow and stale and some of the music wasn't mixed well. "The best night was Saturday night, he incorporated some 80's rock into his playlist and the crowd responded by swarming the dance floor. I was disappointed that the best night to party ended at 2a. I also didn't like the fact that is impossible to get a drink after 3a on some evenings. Overall, I had a great experience and I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone thinking about cruising. Especially people that are located within the NYC area, it eliminates all the nuisances and hassles of flying.
