We were on the 5 day cruise to Mexico on the Emerald Princess from the Port of Houston. We had a balcony, category BF, on the Lido Deck, L235. It was a cozy cabin with a great view and a wonderful cabin steward. We watched a tug boat keep us on track as we left the port. It was pretty exciting as it seemed to be at full power at one point, shoving us as hard as it could against the strong north wind.

Boarding at the Port of Houston was not as good as other ports we have experienced. At one point, they opened a huge metal door and announced that all handicapped passengers and those who need assistance should board at this time. You can imagine the crowd that came forward. Then they boarded the elites, the suites, the platinums, etc. We’ve never seen anything like this before.

The ship is beautiful, but it is full of small, intimate places, so it’s a little chopped up for us. We encountered no bad smells. Our favorite activity was Movies Under the Stars because it was in a large, open amphitheater. We watched Thursday Night Football and several movies. They served popcorn and had blankets for the chilly nights. The deck attendants took great care of us.

Cabin BF

Cozy cabin with a great view and a wonderful cabin steward, Yeniz. The bed was hard and the A/C never got the cabin really cold, but it was OK.
