On approaching the dock the sheer size of the ship was impressive. Boarding went smoothly as we were late and the bulk of people had been processed. The interior of the ship was equally as impressive as the size. we had 2 cabins side by side, one disabled. Both were functional, and the cabin staff were just incredible, always happy, smiling and asking if there was think more we needed. The staff across the entire boat were impressive.

BUT now the down side, the air conditioners couldn't keep the room cool, the food (compared to other cruises we have done, 6 in all) very ordinary, it appeared that if it was not eaten on the day, it was curried the next day. The ship when we boarded had run short of supplies and only got a slight top up when we reached Bangkok 4 days later and the entertainment was just short of a junior high school musical. We cruised with Carnival Spirit in May and the entertainment was 5 star. The day to day activities was limited and aimed at a certain demographic. Bible studies, knitters and natters, and a continuation of Piano playing. I quite like Piano playing just not 4 to 5 times a day, there are other things to do Princess.

This is a shame we paid a lot of money expecting a better organized cruise, what we got was thrown together to get the ship (on a repositioning voyage to Sydney) to its new summer location.

Cabin Review

Cabin E

A great ship, that still needs to work out some bugs, wonderful staff and crew, but very boring entertainment with ordinary food
