This was a Halloween cruise, so three of us decided to go to enjoy the costume parties. We fully expected this to be a loud, adult-oriented sailing with perhaps too much fun - but we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere onboard. Carnival encouraged activities (costume parade, dress-up in the dining room on formal night, Halloween trivia, monster-themed dance parties, etc) but the other passengers, while definitely enjoying the fun, did not create any crazy, noisy disturbances or cause any unpleasantness. Everyone onboard seemed to have a good time without any of the loud extreme rowdiness you might expect for this holiday.
The ship is getting older, so there were some very minor issues (cabin lights that didnt light, worn surfaces in the public areas, scuffed decks, stairs and carpets) that indicate this is an old ship with many miles on her, but overall, the ship was clean, comfortable and enjoyable.
The staff on this sailing was especially pleasant, and seemed genuinely pleased to answer questions and solve problems. We tried the any-time dining and given how crowded this sailing was, we enjoyed this option very much. Since our little group preferred to carry on our dinner conversations among ourselves, it was great fun to have a nice dining room environment, with good food and interesting choices every night but still have our own "private" table for three. The formal night costume party dinner was particularly fun, with the wait staff getting into the spirit of the thing.
Very quiet location in the far aft. A long walk to the elevators, but just two flights up to the Lido. There was no fridge in this cabin on Oct 30, 2014 which seemed strange. Cabin is worn (carpets, sink, desk surfaces) but the safe, hair dryer and tv all worked.
