This was the cruise during Halloween, so was a little unusual.

It was our 2nd cruise on the Magic but our 6th overall. We previously went to Key West, Freeport and Nassau, billed as Eastern Caribbean, but I don't think the ship ever entered the Caribbean Sea. Nevertheless, we enjoyed that cruise overall, and so decided to take another one, this time to Cozumel, Belize and Roatan.

Embarkation was reasonably smooth with steady progress through the lines, about 1 hour total. This time we went straight on the ship after getting the room keys, compared to the previous time when there was another wait until your number was called. Since the whole process was delayed and we were told to arrive after 1 PM by the time we got onboard, it was too late for lunch, so we just had a sandwich from the deli, which was quick and good. The only negative here was that one suitcase did not arrive until about 7 PM, which was a source of concern for a while, as we thought it may have been lost.

Cabin 4C

We were a little apprehensive when we saw which cabin we had been assigned to, because it is below the galleys, and we expected some noise from above. However, it was very quiet, and we did not hear any noise whatsoever. It had plenty of room for storage, and the bed was very comfortable. We slept very soundly every night. The cabin steward was very good, and kept the cabin clean and made a towel animal every night. He always addressed us by name and wished us a good day every day. Although we had the auto tips, we left him some extra as well. The cabin is nicely located mid-ships close to the elevators and convenient for the restaurant without having to wait for an elevator, which get crowded at meal times.
