I have read so many mixed reviews and I have to say I just don't get the negative reviews. To each his own I guess. Let me give you some background. We were on NCL in Aug., Disney in Sept. and the Liberty in Oct. so we were comparing like crazy! ( We also went on RCI in Nov.) We liked the Liberty so much we booked to stay on for the next 5 day cruise. The ship is a little worn in some places but that did not affect our vacation. For us it is primarily about the price, which is why we are trying so many lines to determine who we will use in the future. For the value we found Carnival to be comparable to all the other ships we were on. To get an idea of where I am coming from, I never eat in the buffet onboard or go to buffet restaurants landside or places like Denny's. We eat a lot at Carrabbas and Outback. So we are not used to gourmet food but also not real "cheap" food either.

The food was pretty equal on them all and I have to say that Disney, for the highest price, had the least desirable food. Every one of their soups I tried was to bland to eat and the desserts were not so good, except for the chocolate melting cake. On the Liberty the soups were good and the desserts were overall better. RCI had comparable food to the Liberty, no better. (Enchantment of the Seas) I liked Guy's Burger Joint and ate there twice. Usually we eat breakfast in the dining room and then skip lunch and eat dinner. In the dining room we had Luka and Bojan in My Time Dining and if you go between now and Mid Jan. 15 you may want to request them. We got excellent service and wonderful, fun personalities and we asked for them every night. The first night we had Rey and he was good also and I would recommend him.

We enjoy the piano bar on Carnival but we know that how good that is depends on the piano player. The guy on Liberty now until mid January is Jeremy Ray Borders. He was a lot of fun and we went there for at least an hour each night.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6B

This cabin is right across from the closet that crew bring their carts out of each morning. I would suggest that if you get this cabin you take ear plugs. Thank goodness we did!The location is convenient to the elevators and great except for the early morning noise! I prefer deck one. There are no public rooms above you to make noise and you are close to getting off when you are in port!
