It's been almost 11 years since we last cruised RCI, using a variety of other lines in between. We were very excited for this cruise- excellent thread with lots of activities planned, ports we haven't seen but wanted to visit, etc. Overall, what a great cruise, but as frequent cruisers there were a couple of things RCI could have done better.

For an older ship the Brilliance was gorgeous, very clean, not as flashy as newer ships, but much more elegant. But not Stuffy! Cruise director, CLO, was the best we ever had. Also cabin steward, Foster, was excellent. First time with an aft balcony cabin, and loved it. However, so much going on didn't use it as much as I had hoped, even with many sea days. And we did feel more motion than with other cabins.

Although we had great table mates, service in MDR was slow at best. Our waiter was new, and very good, but at the bottom of the pecking order, so ours were always the last dinners out, sometimes as others were already done eating. We said something, and got better service for a few days. However, food was very good.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

Although we were looking forward to our first-ever aft balcony, I would not do it again. We felt the motion more, and did not really get enough use out of the balcony as there was so much else to do. The corner aft was large and private, and the cabin itself was beautiful.
