We have sailed with RC several times and we have never had a bad cruise. The only thing that I feel that Royal Caribbean needs to improve on is embarkation in Puerto Rico. This is our third cruise out of Puerto Rico and it is without a doubt, the slowest when it comes to boarding the ship. We have arrived early twice, and this past cruise we arrived at 1pm. The wait would not be so bad, except we had to wait outside for at least 45 minutes before they let us in the doors. I'm not exactly sure what the procedure is, but it's as though they allow a certain number in before closing the doors again. When we went in, it really wasn't crowded in side. As diamond members, we were first in line in the Crown and anchor priority line...again, once we got in side.

Once on board, everything went smoothly. We checked out our cabin right away...an AFT cabin...our first! I can see why a lot of folks love these cabins. The view is different and the balconies are larger. I'm not sure we would do an AFT on a larger ship because of the walk. It was about a minute walk to the elevator which wasn't bad. The only time it was bothersome is when I would "forget" something and have to go back. We loved the cabin though (9660) and found it very quiet and relaxing.

The ship itself was in pretty good shape. As previous reviews stated, there is wear and tear. Carpet stains, elevator paneling was cracked at the bottom.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Aft cabin...it in a great location! Great views from the back of the ship. The balcony is definitely larger. You can fit two loungers, two chairs and a table very comfortably. Oh and previous reports show that there is no flat screen tv. We found one in our cabin when we arrived. Only thing to note is with a aft balcony the overhang slants and doesn't completely cover your balcony so if you move a chair closer to the railing and it rains, it will get wet! At least a foot or two back. Just be aware....
