I just completed a cruise on the Carnival Dream embarking from New Orleans, LA. This was my 37th cruise and 14th on Carnival. I arrived one day pre-cruise and stayed one night in the Astor Crowne Plaza on Canal Street. Hotel was very crowded with football fans with tickets to the Saints/Packers game at the Superdome.

Let me just say I was part of a group of cruise junkies sailing on the ship during the Halloween week. With my VIP "Platinum" level, embarkation was a breeze. I was directed to a private office type facility where I completed my health certification and then on to another room with leather couches awaiting the Carnival rep to call my name and issue my key/cruise expense card. After this process was completed, I was directed to wait in the Platinum section of the terminal where we were allowed to board first. Carnival did a great job embarking me and I was aboard the Dream within 15 minutes of port arrival and inside my interior cabin #8418, which was ready for occupancy. Since I was cruising solo (but with a large group), I decided to book an interior cabin, which suited me fine. The cabin was always clean, quiet and neat. My cabin steward did a great job with my room, although I did not have a robe in the closet, he did obtain one for me right away and apologized for it not being supplied upon embarkation.

This ship called on three ports, First was Montego Bay, Jamaica, where I utilized an all inclusive resort. Second was Grand Cayman and third was Cozumel, Mexico. Did an island tour on the Caymans which was very nice and went into town in Cozumel.
