This was our first river cruise. Overall it was an very good experience and very good value for our money.

Embarkation - We made our own arrangements onboard ship in Nuremburg and although we asked multiple times to Emerald, were not told the exact place of mooring until 7am the day of the cruise. In fact, there is only one place where the River cruise ships actual dock and the site was easy to find. We arrived at 2:30 pm and were offered a light lunch and beverages. Obviously Emerald has read some of their own reviews. Bags were taken from our cab directly to our rooms by the staff.

Accommodations - There were a total 154 passengers on board for this Danube river cruise. The ship was obviously very new and well appointed. Our cabin was Panorama Balcony Suite. It was well appointed, clean and bright. Although the bathroom was somewhat close to the bed, this was manageable - there were no issues whatsoever ... some of the prior comments were really uncalled for.

Cabin Review

Cabin Panoroma suite

We were on the second deck (middle of the ship). Extremely easy to get to the public places and on/off shore.
