This review will be as objective as possible without describing whether I was felt happy or displeased of the different things that I discuss. I am referring to the Carnival Fantasy of November 5th, 2014 out of Charleston, SC.
The night before our cruise, (I went with a party of 5), three of us received notices via email and voice mail that we were requested not to arrive at the port until after 1230pm due to some issues. I did not receive this email/phone call myself. We scheduled our pick up from the hotel to be at 12pm however our driver arrived early. We ended up going to the port before 12 pm.
The Port of Charleston is not developed. There are a lot of rocky places, no organized parking spots, a lot of construction in and around the terminal. The port lacked modern facilities. Self drivers would have to park in a designated warehouse and then be shuttled to the terminal. Shuttle drivers and taxi drivers let off their passengers, (like us), in a rocky area. We were then escorted to a man-made line in the rocky area (thankfully it wasn't raining on that day). We had to wait to get on another shuttle to be dropped off in front of the terminal. The shuttle did not leave immediately. We had to wait for a full shuttle.
No noise. Close to elevators but far enough.
