Background:

My partner and I have been on 10 plus cruises and are 36 and 44. We have previously sailed on Royal's Grandeur of the Seas (5 years ago), 6 cruises on Celebrity, 1 on the Grand Princess, and 2 ships on Costa. All to Caribbean ports. We choose to cruise because of the convenience, the ability to meet a wide variety of people, and (almost) guaranteed sunshine. Our experiences on Princess and Costa were lack luster, and we have generally been committed to Celebrity because of the excellent service, amenities, and beauty of the ships. This year, Celebrity was only offering 5 or 10 day cruises, with a few exceptions. My in laws were joining us, and could only commit to 7 days, so we decided to try out the large ships of Royal Caribbean. Our experience on the Grandeur was positive, and we hoped to replicate it on this cruise.
