Sailing on this cruise was myself, DH and DAunt. DH and I have sailed on about 10 cruises and this is DA second cruise. DH and I was looking forward to rest and relaxation. The Friday before we took off from Orlando, Fl. my gout flares up and this did not make for a enjoyable cruise for me but I pushed throughout it.
Embarkation: This was the very first time ever I have had to wait hours to board a ship. The line was all the way outside and it was hot in Ft. Lauderdale. I did like the touch of the fire department passing out cold bottled water to guest. I just think this could have been better organized to move customers faster. It took hours to board. Once upon the ship we heeded to muster drill. Once that was over we went the room to make sure our bags arrived then went to the Windjammer for dinner, Everyone was just tired from the long wait and being hot. No one wanted to change clothes for dinner, We sailed out at approximately 8 pm.
Public Rooms: The promenade was nice and I loved cafe promenade. The sandwiches and desserts was fabulous. Had the famous roast beef sandwich everyone talks about on the boards but I don't get the hype. I did enjoy the shrimp sandwiches. Sorrentos across the walk way. Enjoyed making mu own mini pizza. Many other shopping venues on the promenade.
The bathroom was surprisingly roomy. I like the fact that the shower is bigger and sits out further. The room itself was very HOT. I called maintenance four times but was told they were doing something via the computer. Nothing happened it was still hot. So the first night was way uncomfortable. Second day I went to the service desk to complain about the room temperature. Finally they came and it cooled off. The bed was not as comfortable as previous cruises, it was lumpy.I did not like the fact that you have to turn side ways to walk around the bed. The door to the balcony is very hard to open. The tv in the room is very nice. There's plenty of space to store your luggage and clothes.
