We wanted to go to the Melbourne Cup and thought cruising would be a convenient way to go. P&O had two ships leaving for the cup and our ship departed from Whites Bay. We booked P&O shuttle transfers to/from the airport and they were excellent, cheap at $16 each.

Our cruise fare provided general admission to Flemington Racecourse. We booked a package thru Ticketek for entry to the Precinct area and a reserved seat in the Lawn Stand. This was quite expensive but you had seating, shade, access to food, toilets and bookmakers in a private area. We enjoyed our day moving between the two areas.

The ship provided coach transfers from the ship to the racecourse which were well run and very convenient.

Great location near the elevators, and near the adults only back deck. Very quiet.
