Sail Date: Oct 2014

My husband treated us to our first ever cruise to celebrate my 60th birthday. From the time we boarded in Melbourne at lunchtime on 20/10/2014 until we disembarked on November 2nd, I thought I was in another world. Walking into the Atrium, even having googled all the pictures and videos, it was amazing, and being welcomed everywhere you went by the amazing caring staff was a dream. Our stateroom although being a reasonably confined space was comfortable and always kept immaculately cleaned and well stocked with everything needed. We chose an interior room knowing we would only be sleeping there and opted to spend the difference of what we could have spent on a balcony suite on onshore excursions and the luxury of booking up a bottle of wine, champagne or anything from the sales continually promoted onboard. We opted for the later dining option in Florentine, had fantastic company with two terrific ladies from Melbourne, were in raptures at the five star dining every evening ( a four course five star meal), served by Con and Danka, who couldnt do enough for us. We did dine at Horizon for breakfast a few times and found the selection of food extensive, the omelettes for breakfast were great but always lots to choose from, as was lunch if one felt the need to top up. We also had the luxury of room service for breakfast a couple of times when we had early departure times for onshore excursions, fresh fruit, danish, muffins and coffee delivered on time by courteous staff. Loved the whole overall experience, couldn't recommend it more highly. Loved the entertainment we had too, especially Alana Conway and Patrick Roberts, also Tom Jones (impersonator) and Maggie Scott was hilarious. Even played Bingo which have never done before, who could resist the huge final day jackpot. Also enjoyed a magnificent head to toe massage and facial compliments of family gift, and loved the cooking class with the head chef and maitre d...informative and great fun. Overall, an unforgettable wonderful memorable holiday.
