We were pampered from the second we arrived at the port. I was impressed with how painless the embarkation process went. We have been on several cruises that it was chaotic and long lines to get on the ship. We sailed right on to the ship with ease. We stayed in the Vista Suite so we were able to check into our room early, which was a must for us. The ship was in pristine order and we were welcomed with a warm smile at every turn. Every space on the ship was very well taken care of. I would point out that the crowd on the ship is definitely an older crowd, which is not a bad thing, but worth pointing out as we stood out very much because of our age. The food was incredible, which we ate several of the meals in the comfort of our room. The public spaces were also very impressive. The entertainment on the ship was a little painful though. I believe we sat through 1 1/2 shows. I was also very impressed with the last day and the fact that the band played for us while we boarded the ship for the last time. We did private tours the entire trip so it was just the four of us that returned to the ship, yet we were greeted with just as much delight as if the big bus full of passengers had arrived. The itinerary was VERY port intensive which is why we chose it in the first place, but a day or two at sea wouldn't be such a bad idea. Overall, I can't wait to book again.
We stayed in a Vista Suite on the front of the ship and that was our only regret. The room was absolutely amazing. I believe the room we were in on the 8th floor was the largest Vista Suite they have. One of the drawbacks to the room was the patio during sailing. The wind was so bad the entire trip that housekeeping would have to tie the furniture down every night. They would be there bright and early to untie it as well, so it does add one more level of intrusion to the room. The other drawback to the room was the exercise area. It was a complete waste of space. So much that the next cruise we book with Oceania, I think it would be far more better to book the Oceania Suite instead. One last complaint I have is based on a bad design in any of the front rooms on the ship in that the kitchen for the ship is in the back, so if you are in the front of the ship the food is cold when it arrives in your room. I spoke with our butler on this and they admitted that something needed to be done about this in order to fix this issue.
