Cabin: Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

After spending 3 nights in New York we headed for the port and after about an hour were in our cabin. We had opted for an aft cabin as we liked the idea of having the Manhattan skyline spread out before us. We chose a cabin on deck 9 which had one of the largest balconies and it did not disappoint on this count - it was huge. We did notice ho9wver the cabin could have been cleaner. There were greasy hand marks all over the full length mirror and wardrobe doors and the plastic bits from clothing labels on the floor which had obviously not been vacuumed too well!!

We had taken the drinks and speciality restaurant packages as we had heard the service in the restaurants was bad and were glad we did. We had lunch in one of the main dining rooms three times and on two occasions the service was poor and food cold. We opted not to risk it again. Overall the service on the ship was a hit or a miss. It wasn't too bad in most of the bars however in the restaurants no so good even the speciality ones.

Where Norwegian did excel was in the entertainment. The standard of the entertainers was very high and the theatre shows first class.
