This was our first HAL cruise. All of the tips on the website were awesome. We use the surge-protector with extra outlets and USB ports, the magnets, the deodorizer and the battery operated tea candles. The embarkation was very smooth except the new health form needed to be filled in. It would have been helpful to have this available pre cruise and could have been completed in advance but it only added 10 minutes.

The Neptune lounge was very convenient and both Spencer and Laurice handled every request with absolute efficiency.

The food was good to excellent with most of the culinary council selections being great, The Cracked Pepper Tenderloin with Grilled Shrimp on Tuesday night, The Olive Oil-Poached Cod with Chorizo Cream on Wednesday night and the Sautéed Shrimp Provencal on Saturday night stood out as outstanding entrees. Both of the dessert soufflé's during the week: the Chocolate on Tuesday night and the Soufflé au Grand Marnier on Friday night were incredible.

Cabin Review

Neptune Deluxe Veranda Suite

Cabin SA

The cabin was three down from the elevator mid-ship. It was across mid-ship from the Neptune lounge and was very quiet with little traffic. The cabin was in good working order and was very spacious. Gumy provided excellent service and we never wanted for anything. We did not need the umbrella. The binoculars were nice to use to check out the other ships at our ports or tender locations. The cabin had incredible storage space with double sets of closets, drawers under the bed and storage in the ottomans in the cabin. There was a good safe. The robes and slippers were nice. The large bathroom with tub/shower and shower was extremely useful. The water jets in the tub were relaxing as were the provided bath salts. The flowers were kept fresh as was the fruit during the entire cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin, its location and the service from Gumy and his assistant. The flat screen TV was enjoyable and had movies and many channels that provided useful cruise information. The balcony was great with a table and four chairs as well as two chairs with ottomans and a little table. We took the tea light candles outside and a few very relaxing late evenings enjoying the ocean sky views. The dividers between the balconies provided excellent wind breaks and the balcony was most enjoyable and was never too windy.
