Background Information: This was my 30 cruise. I have sailed on Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America, and Celebrity. This was my 8th NCL cruise.
Hotel Info: - We stayed at Days Inn Miami Intl Airport, and I wouldn't recommend it. We flew into Fort Lauderdale airport, so if I was going to do it again, I would have booked a hotel in Fort Lauderdale and reserved a shuttle the next day to Miami. Ship Info: NCL is one of our favorites. The ship was extremely clean. Our favorite lounge was the Bliss Bar - very different with a variety of beds to sit on, a bowling alley, and popcorn.
Activities: The spinning classes were great! You need to make reservations on the first day for these classes. It cost $10 per class. Service: Service was great in all areas. The only place it seemed slow was at the Italian restaurant. If you are a gold member (over 9 NCL cruises), use the concierge to book your excursions and diner reservations. Shore Excursions: In Dominica, sign up for a shore excursion with the ship because this Island is not as developed as the rest. In St. Lucia, go to Rendezvous Resort - it is an all-inclusive resort for $38. Their email address is reservations@theromanticholiday.com. In Antigua, go to Runaway Bay because it is close to the pier and is on a nice beach with a restaurant. In Barbados, make sure you visit the Tourism desk inside the cruise terminal and ask them for suggestions. If you just go outside to the cabs, they will only push the beaches they get commission from. In Tortola, visit Cane Garden or Brewer's Bay. Stateroom: We booked an outside cabin on deck 8 next to the Mexican Restaurant, and we found there was plenty of closet space and the room was very clean.
