NCL is my cruise line of choice. They really pay attention to detail. As I arrived via water taxi, the porters immediately took our luggage and a NCL representative directed us to a minivan that took us to the terminal. There, we were directed to the VIP line where we checked in. The agent then escorted us to the VIP lounge. We were offered refreshments and pastries. Before I could even say, "No thank you," our personal concierge escorted us through security and to our suite. The elapsed time from water taxi to our suite was about a half hour...amazing!

The room was magnificent and our butler provided excellent service. Suite guests dine in a specialty restaurant for breakfast and lunch, which allowed us to avoid crowds on this port-intensive cruise. We've sailed Celebrity in the past and their service does NOT compare to NCL's standards. NCL really pampers their guests and treats us like guests, not passengers. I love the "Freestyle" way of sailing. We can dine when we want to dine and not when they tell us that dinner is ready; on other cruise lines, it feels like, "Come and get it before it's gone..." The Spirit is an older ship, but well maintained. At every port, deck hands are painting and "swabbing the decks." The only thing missing was a spa with a thelassotherapy pool...and the gym was a tad small.
