In October 2014 we cruised out of Ft. Lauderdale Fla. On the MS Eurodam. We flew into Miami, a very confusing airport, Holland America met us at baggage claim area and bussed us to the ship. It was a smooth transition.
Tip the first: If at all possible, fly into Ft. Lauderdale. The airport is very close to Port Everglades and makes everything easier. Miami is about 45 minutes away but, traffic is a bear with frequent traffic jams. A cab ride from the Lauderdale airport is like five minutes.
Holland America (HA) did a pretty smooth job of getting everyone on the ship despite the huge crowd.
