Never again will I go with Independence of the Seas. Having had six plus cruises on the Allure and thoroughly enjoying them I was not anticipating any problems on the IOTS. How wrong can you be! First impressions of the ship itself were OK and we tried not to compare its spaciousness to the Allure. Our Suite ( Grand Suite) was a good size as you would expect and the furnishings were acceptable. However there were 3 cupboard doors that we could not close and there was only one robe in the bathroom. These things should have been dealt with before we boarded. After a noisy night with the doors banging in rhythm with the ship we were fortunate to bump into a maintainance man who said he would return and fix them. He didn't, so we phoned maintainance the next day and got the problem solved. We did get another robe but every time we used an item in the bathroom we had to ask for it to be replaced. Incidentally, no slippers are now provided!

The food was fine but not the choice or variety we have experienced previously. Cut backs are evident. The service from our two waiters was excellent.

Children were a problem, playing with and in the lifts and rampaging about at all hours unchecked.
