My husband, myself and our teenage son took an 8 day cruise on Grandeur of the Seas 10/24-Nov.1, out of Baltimore. We had great weather and a wonderful time. This is the oldest ship we have sailed on, however it is beautifully renovated, has all the things important to us and such an attentive staff, that the age of the ship didn't matter.
We had about a 4 hour drive from our home in NY to the port. We arrived at about 11:15 and were on the ship in half an hour. Great! We had a large inside cabin on deck 8 (perfect location for getting to pool or buffet). The cabin was fine, however the water pressure in the bathroom sink (very small) was low. The shower was small for me and I am a small woman, but not a big deal. Noise was not an issue, we were below the Solarium. Vanessa our stateroom attendant did a great job of taking care of us.
We went to most of the shows and enjoyed them, especially Tony Tillman. He received at least two standing ovations, a great performer, The Love and Marriage show was especially funny. We were on board for Halloween and they had a fun party and show in the centrium. The cruise director Mitch was great. He even belly flopped in the pool for the crowd at the end of the Men's International Belly Flop Contest. Andre, the activities director, was full of energy. We enjoyed the pools, hot tubs, rock climbing wall and fitness center, all good.
Nice room. great location for getting to pool or buffet. No noise issues. Separating the beds gives you more room to move around.
