My first cruise on NCL was a 7 day cruise on NCL Star from Long Beach to Puerto Vallarta. It was excellent. Therefore we booked this cruise hoping to have the same experience.
A little pre-note info. I booked this cruise back in January, 2014, from Costco as a 50th birthday present to my partner. The trips original ports of call was Cozumel, Belize City and Roatan. In April, I received a trip update and it said that the port of Roatan had been changed to Trujillo. I called and asked why and the guy was very candid and said that we were "bumped" because most likely a bigger (better) cruise ship was taking our spot. I looked at Trujillo online and saw the beautiful mountains and sea and thought it would have the same beautiful beaches as Roatan so I didn't question it. Later, as I will explain in the port reviews, I come to find out that Belize City and Trujillo are not ports worth visiting.
October is here and we are excited about the cruise. The only two things I personally wanted to experience is morning coffee on our room balcony (we did, thank you) and experience a day on a picturesque white sandy beach with blue waters like you see in all of the travel brochures (didn't happen.)
Cabin location is great, midship is less boat rocking. Not much noise at all. Balcony is great for morning coffee. The two twin beds pushed together makes a "Full" sized bed - not a queen. I'm 6'3" and my feet hung off the bed. On a normal sized queen bed they would not. Also be prepared that your knees will touch the wall in front of you while sitting in the restroom. Water pressure in the shower is surprisingly good and heats up relatively fast.
