This was my first trip to Canada and New England and also my first time on Brilliance. It was a very rainy and cold cruise but I did manage to get lovely days each time I had an excursion planned. The ship is very nice, clean and the staff very friendly. My only complaint was with the porter staff at check in. I purchased the transfers from the airport. I have cruised many many times and I have never ever had to be responsible for my own luggage once it was placed in the bus. RCCI always took care of it. Not this time. They made us take our luggage off the bus and get in line and wait for a porter to place it in the metal cages. Of course, the porters were all focused on the cabs coming in and we ended up waiting a long time just to get into the terminal. When we complained to a RCCI official looking person, he looked at us like we had two heads.

Once that mess was taken care of, check in was a breeze and I was on the ship in a jiffy. The staterooms were available at 1 pm. My stateroom attendant was Idewa. He was amazing mysteriously appearing out of no where whenever I was going into my stateroom. My room was always clean and he left me towel animals several nights. I always had the ice I requested.

The dining room menu is getting kind of old. Although the food was excellent, I have had these same items on every ship I go on. I think they need to change up the menu more often. I had my time dining and was never at a loss for table companions and dinner conversation. I also ate in the windjammer which was disappointing to me. They did have a terrific stir fry dish they would prepare for you but it was every night. Much of the other food was overcooked and much of the chicken dried out. It was not aesthetically pleasing to look at. I found lunch in the dining room and Park Cafe to be the best places to eat.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

I had a balcony cabin on deck 9 directly across from the elevator. Perfect location. It was large with plenty of storage. My stateroom attendant kept it spotlessly clean. There was plenty of balcony space but I didn't use it much due to the weather.
