We have just finished our cruise on the Celebrity Century today and what a fantastic time we had! While we have done 9 cruises before, we have only done one cruise with Celebrity previously on the Millenium. We were well aware that the Century is on it's way out, hence the low price tag of the cruise. We were not disappointed and we agree we received great 'value for money'. We are in our early 40's and on this cruise we chose not to take our teenage kids.

Embarkation was easy. We are always so excited we arrive at the wharf at around 9.30am. The luggage area is open at this time so we gave them our suitcases. At 10.30am they allowed us to enter the embarkation area out of the sun and within 20 minutes we were on the ship. We were one of the first on and always like to check out where our cabin is first before heading to the Library to get a book to read for our voyage. Then it's lunch in the Buffet followed by sitting by the pool before everyone else arrives. We rarely use the pool area at all after that, preferring the privacy of our balcony. Disembarkation was even easier. To save time, we always choose to wheel our own suitcases off the ship. We had a leisurely breakfast in the MDR, went to our cabin, got our suitcases and literally just walked off the ship straight to a waiting taxi at about 8am. Our domestic flight was at 11am and we heaps of time to spare which was great.

One of the things that really stood out was the quality of the shows every night in the theatre. We saw the aerial performers, a comedia, a saxophonist and the Cruise Ship Dancers and Singers. I didn't like the piano entertainer (I've done this job myself) but the others I sat with did. We both liked the Cruise Director, John whom was very approachable.

Deluxe Ocean View with Veranda

Cabin 2A

Good location for the Buffett. Not far from the lifts and stairs. If the ship is in Sydney Harbour, you will face the Opera House! Not much passing traffic outside your door. Room creaks during rough weather so bring ear plugs. We could also hear one neighbour's TV when they had it on. Overall, still a great room.
