I had never been on a cruise by myself before, and really needed a vacation. So, without much hesitation, I booked a last minute (which I mean only two days before), cruise on the NCL Breakaway to the Bahamas from N.Y.C. Now, I have been on this same ship two other times. Once last year to Bermuda, and very early this year also to the Bahamas. I choose this ship, again, because the price was right, weather was nice, the dates were convenient, and so was the port from my home. Being that I have been on this ship before, I was hoping that by now, NCL had listened to our feedback, and improved the cruise ship. Well, as the title states, the third time was the charm! NCL gave me the best vacation ever! Yes, I was alone, but I didn't feel that way. I met up with some lovely CC members on the ship. We had dinner, and took in some shows together. By the way, the shows are great! Broadway-like quality. The crew was very friendly, helpful, and approachable. I wanted to change my shore excursion, no problem. Any questions I had were answered. They even had the captain, and main crew at our CC meet and greet. Nice touch!

The food was really good even at the included restaurants. Great steak! Buffet was okay, but I mostly ate at the sit down restaurants. O'Sheehan's is good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and it's included! I was really impressed at how NCL fixed up the ship's program. On my first cruise on Breakaway, it took forever just to get someone to separate the beds. Now, anything you needed was promptly done. The ships bathrooms were really clean. Try using one a year before. Yuck! Smelly. Big improvement. Everything was great! The food, shows, room, spa, gym, pools (yeah, the pools can get busy, but there is so many other things to do). If you love wine, take in the wine lovers comedy lunch. 6 glasses of wine, 3 courses, and a hilarious comedy skit about wine for $25. Totally worth it. Make sure you go with a friend, relative, or significant other to help you out. LOL The dance parties up in H2O were fun when it wasn't cold, or rainy. I even went on the water slides, finally, since the weather was so warm for early October. So much fun!

The private NCL beach is great just to lounge, and walk around on. No excursion needed unless you want to do something extra. This cruise ship is great for whether you are going with one friend, a bunch of friends, family, kids, or alone. There is something for everyone! P.S. Don't forget to go to the fireworks show. It's awesome to watch fireworks out at sea!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

Typical room, but kept very clean. Lots of storage space. Decent bathroom. Regular, small balcony with two chairs, and small table. Housekeeping was great. Always had clean towels, and the bed made. I had towel animals 4 of the 7 nights, but they were elaborate. Not a noisy floor. Once in a while I would hear a big cart moving around, but otherwise quiet. Good, mid ship room, and view. Could hardly feel a thing while in motion.
