We wanted to go to Newfoundland, PEI, Nova Scotia and Quebec. We like to travel in the spring and fall. We decided to drive from Michigan to Quebec, stopping in Ottawa and Montreal, and then take a cruise due to the distance and difficulty in getting to the places we wanted to go. We chose the Legend because we are Diamond Plus RC cruisers and the itinerary. We chose an interior room under the main dining room because those rooms tend to be quiet and less disturbed by any roll in the ocean. All of those decisions were excellent and I would recommend what we did for those reasons.

The renovation of the Legend eliminated much of the space to read, play cards, sit, knit or whatever you do on ship days that are too cold to be outside. The 2 "pay for dinner" dining rooms added to the Viking Crown ruined what I like best about that room being a great place to sit with a view. The library is combined with the "pay for" coffee/ice cream shop. They did add an areal show in the Centrum that was a hit. The singers and dancers were quite good.

Interior Stateroom

Cabin N

BUT - Parts of the Legend are getting old and worn in spite of the recent upgrade. Choose your room carefully and make sure that you have the amount of space you need. Our cabin 3583, category N, was 132 sq ft. For now on I will get a bigger room. I picked the room knowing the size. I did not know how worn the beds, furniture, bathroom, couch would be. Room temp and shower temp was erratic and uncontrollable. I spoke with the housekeeping management to tell them the room was not up to my expectations.
