This was a new experience for us after 14 previous Princess cruises. This was a departure from what we were use to on the North American, South American, Asian and European cruises. The itinerary was great but the food, service and attitude of the staff was not what we expected of Princess. The staff did not seem particularly knowledgable or friendly and were unresponsive to questions and concerns ( no evening social hours for Platinum/ Elites). The food and service was geared to a different style of dining and palate- a lot of vegetarian and fish mains few meat or fowl. Service at the Horizon Court was limited, you basically had to bus your own table if you wanted a seat. This was not a typical Princess level cruise, we felt like there is a two tier system in place for this cruise market and the rest of the Princess fleet.

The cabin and the ship on a whole were very nice. The production shows were good- typical Princess but the individual entertainers were geared to the Australian market. The cruise director ( his first time out) and his assistant CD were straight out of a English holiday camp. The Captain's Club hostess was something else.

The Cruise attracted a much older demographic which appeared to many first time cruisers.

Cabin Review

Cabin AB

Cabin was excellent- location near lift, but very quiet.
