This was our second trip in less than a year on Carnvial Paradise. This time we traveled with a group of 20, including one child and we all had a blast. The crew and ship are awesome for a smaller, older ship. This ship is going to drydock soon for the 2.0 upgrades but it's quaint and special to us, being in our home port and the ship we got engaged on (12/2013) and honeymooned on (10/2014). We wil miss her when she is gone!
Food and service were typical of the last cruise, although this sailing had a sea-day buffet, I do not remember our December cruise having this. Our cabin was Upper Deck (6) Ocean View and was spacious enough for what we got. The only disappointment was that this room is under part of the Galley and there was a horrid 'tomato paste' smell every night around 11 PM that caused a need for lysol spray, it was that bad. It's not a room I'd recommend or want to stay in again because of being under the Galley.
The Casino & Promenade are great places to people watch and the Rotterdam Lounge is a great spot to meet friends for a drink before dinner. We spent a couple of nights in Rex for their various parties and a couple of nights in the American Bar for the piano sing-along with Gustavo. There's always one drunk guy in there, it seems, and we found him on night one....and he was back on night 4, but we still had a fun time in there. Gustavo was different than the guy we had in December but he was good too.
This room is below the galley and had some random funky smells. This is not a room I would want to have again.
