As a treat to ourselves, we decided to indulge in a holiday where we had everything organised for us. We don't like sitting on beaches - we like to be active and see interesting things.

Our ship was exactly like the ones we had seen on TV, and we were given a really nice room with our own shower room en suite and a great view of the water - at eye level! Brilliant. We could see swans swimming up to the glass, we saw the inside of a lock in the middle of the night. Loved it!

There was a great system for checking us off and on the boat, and once we got used to the way it worked, we felt most secure - no chance of getting lost or left behind. We were able to choose which activities which suited us best, and also the quality i.e. did we want the active or the gentle trip? We really enjoyed the range of activities, especially having our own personal courier in a range of languages. We learnt far more this way than we would have done if we'd been wandering alone.
