California Coastal on Star Princess – A Relaxing Getaway: October 11, 2014

I had a nice get-away week on board the Star Princess, with a California Coastal leaving from, and returning to, San Francisco. Ports of Call were: Ensenada, Long Beach, San Diego, and Santa Barbara. Cabin BD

I was “upsold” from an ocean view cabin on Plaza deck to a BD balcony on B (Baja) deck. Cabin B704 was close to the stern, and immediately adjacent to the elevators and stairs in stern portion of the ship. I was a bit concerned about noise from the elevators and people congregating there, but I only heard noise a couple of times. I will say that we had an older crowd on board for this cruise, and also being near the stern there was not as much traffic. If I was to chose again I would try to avoid the stairwell but I enjoyed the Baja deck, and liked the privacy (no one looks down from above) as well as liking the having an accommodations deck above to protect from the noise of Horizon Court. Also, the Baja deck balconies are fully covered, which would be very welcome in warmer climates.
