The ship is a big and beautiful with plenty of activities, shopping and dining options. However, the ship is just too big in our opinion.
There were long waits at the elevators only for them to open and be full. During special clearance sales of ship merchandise, I have never experienced such a frenzy of rude, pushing people trying to buy cheap items. And during the Captain's Champagne party, there were half-hour waits for formal photographs.
The Horizon Buffet reminded me of Golden Corral with a variety of selections from which to choose, but not out of the ordinary and consistently the same day in and day out. For breakfast, I had been disappointed that lox was not offered at the buffet for my bagel and cream cheese, but found out the very last day that one had to request it. We loved the dinner hours for Anytime Dining in the Symphony and Concerto and always ate later in the evening after the "rush", yet the wait staff seemed pressed for time and did not provide personal service. The menu selections included some of the same items with a variety of new appetizers and entrees every night. The food was 3-star quality and I was increasingly disappointed over the trip duration. I mean, I am from Texas and I hardly think Texas Chili, Cajun Jambalaya or Prime Rib are high on my list when I travel around the world to satisfy my gastronomical appetite! On the last night, we dined at the Crown Grill with reservations at 8, but we could not be accommodated until 8:30 pm. The food was excellent, 5-star quality, but the service was hit-and-miss due to the volume of diners.
