Cabin: Ocean View

Embarkation: Rainy NYC but surprisingly enough, did not take all that long to check in. My daughter and I were on board in less than an hour. Very friendly check in agent.

Cabin: Ocean view cabin on Deck 2 mid-ship. My memory for names is totally shot but I think our cabin attendant was Edwin from Ecuador. Couldn't get the cabin door to open and he came right away to assist us and introduce himself. Cabin door was just stuck for a minute and no problem after that. We took the "red-eye" to NYC from Albuquerque so probably we were too tired to focus. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was cool, just the way we like it.

Dining: Had really nice dinner mates at a table for 10. Was pleased that the Splendor had the chilled fruit soups, e.g., strawberry and mango. Menu was similar to previous cruises so no surprise there. Carnival really needs to add staff to the MDR. Dinner should not take longer than 75-90 min; one night we were still at the table for almost 2 hrs. Not good. Our wait staff worked hard but too many tables to handle. Only went to the Lido a couple of times for a sandwich and rotisserie chicken on the upper floor. I did enjoy the Sea Day Brunch. We also ordered room service every morning, coffee and juice, and it was promptly delivered.

Cabin 6C

I like the lower decks, mid ship. Not much swaying. It's also easier to go from one side of the ship to the other and access other decks. There are several decks that you have to go up a couple of decks in order to get across the ship.
