Right from the start you get a feeling how things are going to turn out. Call it quirky, I don't know, but it happens. We are on Diamond level & get the odd perk or two, but just getting on the ship was a little more difficult than usual. We also had a suite which put us virtually straight through check in, but some how they shafted us to the wrong line & yes we got caught up. A few questions & a lot of eye rolling on both sides got the right results in the end. Cabin was excellent & our room attendant was good.

We had selected "my time dining". At first it was a hassle just to get a seat for 7.30, a time when many people were leaving the earlier seating, we ended up befriending two to 3 other couples who sat with us on a regular basis. From here our culinary experience hit rock bottom. When we finally attracted the attention of our main waiter he didn't seem too happy about being disturbed from as little as what he was doing. The menus were basically thrown in our lap & the question, "what do you want " was asked.... woooooh how to get attention!! From there it didn't get any better, he not only served his guests from the wrong side but also served them from across the table nearly loosing 3 dinners in different peoples laps. First night out the wife ordered escargots - Sorry we've run out, second night she ordered Salmon, Sorry we've run out. After a few quiet questions were asked of the head chef , who visits the Diamond lounge from time to time, it seems from there on in they found plentiful supplies of all - maybe they found the tree that they grew on, or somebody threw a line overboard.. Overall, food just wasn't up to standard either were the waiters, it just seemed they didn't want to be there, they were at the end of a long season & they wanted to go home.

Another noticeable annoyance was when we got to the Diamond Club of an afternoon/evening there were aprox 140 odd Diamonds trying to fit into an area that usually accommodates 20 to 30. A bit more forethought here could be warranted.... We had other minor hassles, but they were liveable. I believe RCC has to really keep an eye on the end of season/repositioning crews - they really looked tired & lacksadaisy.. if there's such a word... Plus, this was the last time Rhapsody OTS was sailing down to Australia, maybe this had something to with it, I don't know but your staff should be @ 100% @ all times.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Cabin as usual was very clean & comfortable, all amenities that come with a JS. We were @ the very AFT end of the ship which did incur a bit of rock n rollin.. & squeaky ceiling & wall panels especially when we were doing high knots. But a balcony to kill for, which we utilised to the fullest. The odd leave port sail away party, breakfast, snacks & plain old entertaining. You had plenty of sunshine if you req'd it or just pull one of the deck chairs into the shade for a quiet read or a snoozzee. Will try for that one again.
