Roll Call, Roll Call – It was all about the Roll Call. What a great roll call we had. It was a lot of fun with a great bunch of people on the list. Some of those that came to the roll call late commented on what a very active and lively roll call we had – and we did. We also had many late comers that just jumped right in and started enjoying the fun – it was great. It made the long count down through the spring and summer very enjoyable. The Sept 27 2014 sailing of the Norwegian Getaway broke the roll call records for most viewed and most post including the inaugural voyage of the Getaway. The roll was comprised of a wide range of people from the young solo traveler, first timers, experienced cruisers and seniors from all over North America. We had many activities planned and ready to go.

DW and I flew in a day early and stayed at the B2 Hotel. It was very convenient. The B2 is right across from the Bayside Market Place and just about on the POM door step. There is a CVS right next to the hotel. The rooms are a bit on the small side but adequate. If we had to pay list price the B2 would not be our first choice. We used an on line bid site. The Bayside Market Place has many different restaurants and shops. Not a bad take in. Shuttle service from hotel to POM and it can be arranged at the front desk.

The next day we were off to the Getaway. We arrived about 11:15 AM and aboard approximately 12:30PM. It was not too bad. Had lunch at O’Sheehan’s and the rooms ready announcement was broadcast as we were eating. Off to our standard balcony room # 13204 unpack, muster and then to our first roll call event – The Sail away. We meet on Deck 17 Port Side in the public sun deck area at the bar just outside the Vibe entrance. After all the months of bantering, joking and swapping of information it was great to see many of the people that were on the site. We wore beads to help ID ourselves.
