Just got off a fabulous fall break cruise from Long Beach. Parked at the pier ($17/day). Embarkation was a breeze. Room was ready when we arrived at 2pm.

This is my 10th cruise and I must say that while we had a great time, these short cruises are very backward. Ensenada is the first and only port and it is on Friday with the day at sea on Saturday. Elegant night is on Friday. It would make so much more sense to have Ensenada on Saturday so that more people can sign up for shore excursions and then have elegant night on a day at sea.

We traveled with our golf clubs having pre-registered for the Baja Golf and Country Club excursion ($99 each for green fees, transportation and cart). Tickets were waiting in our stateroom when we arrived. However, after dinner (12 hours before shore excursion was to start) we received a note under our door stating that our excursion had been cancelled due to lack of participation. I went to the shore excursion desk and no one was there! They close at 8pm the night before we are to arrive at our only port!!! Stood in line at pursers desk to be told that there was nothing they could do and we could either go by ourselves or sign up for another tour. Funny thing was that 4 other tours were also cancelled due to lack of participation. We did not feel comfortable going to a golf course that had a vague website or being crammed on one of the wine tours, so we stayed on the boat. We had been to Ensenada before and it's nothing special unless you have something arranged that you really want to do. Letter stated that my payment for the golf tour would be refunded to my credit card, but it was given as onboard credit instead.

Cabin Review

Cabin 4C

Did the Interior Guarantee option for the first time and was pleased. Expected a forward Riveria like we normally end up booking, but got a Midship interior on Upper deck 5. We get the cheapest rooms since you really don't spend that much time in them and they are really not that bad! The fake window is my favorite part. I like the bathroom layout of the smaller ships like the Imagination. Room is quiet for being next to stairs and elevator, but I think the back wall is shared with crew cabins and/or storage. Twice we walked into our room and it smelled like garlic bread and other food. Heard a steward cart bang once. No engine noise or vibration here. Good storage space in the closets and under the bed. Wish the bathroom door opened towards the front door though. Brought little fake candles from the dollar store to put in the bathroom so you don't have to turn on the bright light. I recommend a hanging toiletry bag as there is not much shelving in the bathroom. Interior rooms on the Imagination are the same size as the oceanview, even though they look bigger on the deck plans. Our neighbor across the hall kept their door open all the time, so we were able to compare.
