First time with Thomson cruises. Not sure we will do it again. Smooth transfer from Palma to the ship but given the staff must do it so often, that's to be expected. Luggage to cabin fast and efficient. Hated being bombarded by staff giving out leaflets (for the spa) and encouraging photo opportunities, as we joined the ship but I guess marketing must prevail at first opportunity and perhaps a boarding photograph is welcomed by many even when you've been up since 0300 and look like hell!

Cabin was up to expectation (on Deck 7 with a window). We really liked our cabin which had a big comfortable bed, nice clean full bathroom etc. Toilet ceased to work on one day but that was soon rectified.

Overall the ship was clean but shabby and tired in places. The ladies toilets on deck 11 need more attention. Its all very well making sure everywhere else is clean and that hand sanitisation routines are followed, but the ladies loo cubicles on deck 11 have a thin "sill" which runs along the cubicle wall. Its thick with urine salts and dirt - try running a wad of toilet paper along it! Furthermore, on the last morning aboard those toilets blocked and disgustingly overflowed. We also noticed sewage smells in the lobby area outside the theatre but this seemed to come and go.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was lovely and we enjoyed it. It was perfectly adequate for the week and kept beautifully clean although I did find a stranger's earring under the bed so I guess the stewardess hadn't really vacuumed properly before we joined. Looking at the wardrobe walls, in certain lights, I could see lots of smears and left over spillages which hadn't been cleaned down properly. Also, TV remote controls are known to be the worst offenders for filth and bacteria ... why are they not sanitised? A small detail which could be included into the cleaning routines perhaps?
