Sail Date: Aug 2014

My Wife and I drove up to the Bay Area to pick up our travelling buddy and cousin. Rather than pay for a shuttle and have to worry about timing, we decided to prepay parking at a garage called 55 Francisco. www.55francisco.com. Very convenient but you do need reservations.

Getting to the port in San Francisco was a challenge. A) It was a Saturday; B) It was Labor Day Weekend; C) It's San Francisco. I was able to drop my wife, cousin and luggage off at the port, then drove to the parking garage. It was literally a 5 minute walk back, mostly because I had to wait for traffic signals.

Since this is our 10th Cruise (3rd with Princess), we are used to arriving early and sitting in lobby of the pier. Well, the old port Terminal (They opened the new one a week after we arrived back) has no seating, so we had to schlep our carry on's down to Pier 39 and wait about 3 hours.

Cabin Review

Cabin B2 Extended Balcony

Princess upgraded us to a room with an extended balcony. Very functional room. Our only real complaint may seem trivial but it turns out several people complained... You know that TV channel that shows you your satellite position? The piece of hardware that controls it was out, so no channel. It was especially useful at night to know what lights you might be looking at, especially through the inside passage.
