My wife and I went on this cruise October 6 through the 10. It was, by far, one of the better cruises we have experienced with Carnival. This review is about the ship itself.
First off, this ship is in very, very good shape for its age. As always, the housekeeping and maintenance crews worked tirelessly to keep it that way. Our cabin Steward, I believe his name was Yoyok, was very good, he worked as if he was a ghost. Room was perfect and Ice bin was always full. Kudos!
The room itself (M51) was as expected. We always try to book a room on a floor with cabins above and below us to keep the noise to a minimum. This was the last ocean view cabin available that satisfied the above when I booked the trip. It unfortunately, also had two Murphy Beds in it. I can not tell you how many times I hit my head getting into and out of the regular bed with this arrangement. Aside from that, the cabin location was very convenient in regards to getting around the ship. There are three elevators nearby (actually 4, but one was always blocked off for other purposes for whatever reasons....).
Situated in a block of similar cabins with Murphy Beds, it is not uncommon to see families of 4 or 5 occupy these cabins. Lucky for us, our neighbors (families on each side with young kids) were not noisy. Be careful with hitting your head on the protruding Murphy Bed unit when getting in/out of the regular bed.
