Sail Date: Oct 2014
Cabin: Penthouse Suite

This was a popular cruise that was overbooked and several, maybe forty, stateroom bookings had to be upgraded to similar cruises at a later date.

We were in a penthouse PH3 suite on deck ten and travelling with a solo guest in a B grade cabin on deck eight. The penthouse suite was well designed with a generous walk-in wardrobe and more than enough storage. The bathroom, which looked identical to ones we have had on various Silversea voyages, had a walk in shower that was a perfectly good size as well as a tub with shower. The toiletries were Bulgari. The beds were superbly comfortable, the best in the business, and passengers can order the same mattress to be made in Italy and delivered to their homes.

Comparing our penthouse suite with the B grade cabin we noticed that that was narrower so could not include the walk-in wardrobe and there was a little less seating space but it was adequately spacious and we felt we would have been comfortable in there.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

Cabin PH3

PH3 suite. Good design and tasteful calm decor, with superbly comfortable bedding. More storage than we could fill and we do not travel light. Silent by day and night and free of any engine noise and vibration.Very efficient air conditioning. Small but totally private balcony with two comfortable chairs. The curtains provide a total blackout at night.A lap-top computer is provided but internet access is not included. Binoculars would have been appreciated. A quite large flat-screen TV provided access to a good range of international channels as well as all the usual shipboard ones.Bathroom were supplied with Bulgari amenities, a walk in shower as well as a tub which also had a shower. Lots of bathroom storage so there was never any clutter. Butler service was useful and full breakfast daily en-suite was always delivered within ten minutes of order time and set out on the table with a table cloth.
