Having previously cruised on vessels about one quarter to one third of the Allure's capacity we thought it would be interesting to experience the largest vessel currently cruising. We were anticipating the worst due to the number of passengers but were pleasantly surprised with the smooth embarkation process. By having arrival times assigned by deck Royal Caribbean has everything moving very smoothly.

The Allure is a really big ship, more like a floating mall. One realizes the size when the Captain can drive around on a motor cycle and also when it is docked across from the Navigator of the Seas! It takes a while to find one's bearings and also discover the locations of complimentary eating places as well as those with charges, particularly since the charges may only apply at certain times of day.

Our first disappointment was being seated at the late setting in the main dining room at a table for eight with only four there, including the two of us. The second evening we were only three and on the third just the two of us. Miriam, our waitress gave us excellent attention but it was still awkward to converse when sitting side by side and it was too noisy to be seated at the large table to be seated opposite each other. It was at this point that we requested My Time Dining which we regret not trying earlier. The Dinner menu was adequate if not so varied as we have experienced with other cruise lines.
