This is our 15th cruise on Carnival. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the fact that it left on my birthday. We like the Eastern Caribbean Cruises that usually go to St Maarten, St. Thomas and Nassau but with Grand Turk and St Kitts added instead of Nassau this was a better itinerary.

Embarkation went fairly smooth as we are platinum members. We were seated in the lounge but when we were called to go to the ship it got a little confusing because we crossed directly in front of people checking in at the counter. One port employee stopped me on my way to the ship and asked to see my boarding pass to make sure I was priority boarding. I always throw my boarding pass in my carry on since I have never needed it after checking in. I showed her my S7 S card but she insisted on the boarding pass when a Carnival employee came up and told her to let me board.

The Freedom is a nice ship with lots to do and I never experienced any long lines at the buffets. The longest I waited was about 10 minutes at the Deli on one sea day. Guys burgers was a good change of pace from the normal buffets.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6B

This is a very large Ocean view cabin. We chose this because of the size, it has 2 ocean view windows side. It has a very large sitting area, enough to seat 6 people comfortably on the sofa and 3 chairs. If you are a light sleeper then DO NOT get this room. When the ship comes in to port the cabin will vibrate and rumble until the captain throttles down the engines. On our way in to dock at Port Everglades the cabin shook for almost 20 minutes straight. Not sure if he was having problems but that was the longest I've ever felt a ship vibrate. To us it was like an alarm clock.
