I had heard that Disney Cruise Lines and their ever so popular Dream cruise ship would meet all of our expectations and then some. Sadly, it did not. Disappointing would be a great word to use. First and foremost, our stateroom was 10598, just underneath the Deck 11 hot tub, mickey slide and arcade, so the feet stomping and running up and down that area all night was horrible. I got very little sleep. I blame that on myself for not doing my homework before booking that stateroom. Secondly, for the ship to be as long as it is, it has 2 tiny swimming pools and a 45 minute wait for the Aqua Duck water slide and minimal lounge chairs. While the adult pool is nice and large, they should have made a larger pool for children. Day 2 on the boat, one of the two tiny swimming pools was shut down. Not sure why. On the cruise ship, I found the shows just "meh". There isn't a lot to do in the Bahamas, its a nasty scary tourist town, so make your way over to Atlantis or just stay on the boat. Day 3 in Castaway Cay was nice, snorkeling was a lot of fun, but again, there was a long wait for the slide, and the area where kids can do rope climbing was shut down. Food, the food was mediocre, nothing fabulous, and not better than any other cruise I had been on. My last complaint, the Disney characters only came on twice a day and the lines to snap a photo with them were ridiculously long. Isn't that what the kids want the most? I won't book another Disney cruise, as I found that my family and I could have found something much more enjoyable to do with $5,000.
