We have just returned from 12 nights on board Carnival Legend on its first cruise out of Australia. We visited Noumea, Lifou, Port Denarau, Suva and Mare. Earlier this year we went to other Pacific Islands on the Carnival Spirit, which we absolutely loved and recommend.

So how do they compare?

Legend has just undergone a multi million dollar refit for the Australian Market which sees the addition of the water slides, Serenity ( the adults only retreat at the rear of deck 9), the Red Frog Pub, Bonsai Sushi, and a lolly shop, Cherry on Top. The main public areas, namely the Atrium and the main restaurant, Truffles, are noticeably darker than those on Spirit because of the dark brown colour of the woods used. Truffles is not as elegant, although some may say gaudy, as it's equivalent on Spirit. We were told that this may be changed for the 2015 season.

Cabin Review

Balcony (obstructed views)

Cabin 7A

A lovely room with a partially restricted view, simply because the lifeboats are below the balcony, otherwise you have no problem looking right out to sea. We had it configured with an extra bed for our son and there was ample room. Our bed was a King and very comfortable. Being right in the middle of the ship, it was quiet and was not subject to as much movement as the rooms at the fore or aft. We would definitely choose this room or one very similar again.
