This was our first cruise on Carnival (have previously sailed on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean) and we were very curious about how our experience on Carnival would compare to the other cruise lines. As for an overall comparison between Carnival and Norwegian and Royal Caribbean, all of the cruise lines are fun and all of them go to the same ports. In my opinion each line has things tha they do well and other things they aren’t as good at. In my review I will try point out the items of comparision.
Price: Hands down Carnival is less expensive than the other two options and probably an overall better value for the dollar as well. It’s hard to beat a seven day Caribbean cruise for $249 per person.
Cabin: We were in cabin 1420 which is a port side toward the aft ocean view cabin on the first deck. The cabin was good sized and very well laid out. Comfortable king size bed, flat screen TV, couch, three closets, mini frig., nice bathroom. I would say that compared to the ocean view cabins we have had on other ships this one was a bit larger and very nice. The only complaint I would have at all was that we could hear noise from the hall when people were talking as they passed our cabin. This wasn’t a huge thing, but occasionally late at night or early morning our snoozing was interrupted this way.
