We stayed in the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale beach hotel the night before the cruise. It was nice to stay at a hotel on the beach.
Embarkation was easy. We arrived at the ship around 11am and it wasn't long before we were eating lunch in the Windjammer. We were looking forward to dropping off our bags in our room at 1pm, however, most of the ships key cards were wiped and we had to stand in a two hour line at guest services to get them recoded. Not the most relaxing way to start off a vacation.
Allure of the Seas is a destination itself. We often didn't even feel like we were on a ship. We never felt the movement of waves as we have on smaller ships. The different neighbourhoods also make you feel like you are not on a ship. The rooms were very nice and the ship was always clean.
Cabin was larger than our balcony rooms on other Royal ships. Bed was by the balcony. Large closet and decent sized bathroom. Good view from the balcony. No noise heard in the hallway, but could sometime hear the TV on in the adjoining stateroom. 10th deck is a great deck to be on because the elevators were often busy, so you could easily walk down the stairs to the entertainment on decks 5 and 6. You could also easily walk up to the pool deck (deck 15).
