2 of us (DW) on this cruise out of San Juan. Balcony, mid ship, Upper Deck. We have done 10+ cruises in all in the past and 2 previous on Carnival.

Embarkation was very good. We got to the Old San Juan port around 4pm and were in our cabin in about 20 mins. Some kind of record for us.

The room is standard. Queen size bed, couch, bathroom and balcony. Balcony has 2 chairs and a table. No quirks (think Epic). Room steward (Trishna from Indonesia) was excellent. Nightly towel animals and pillow chocolates (great idea, not great quality). Bathrobes are standard, unlike some other cruise lines. Minibar can be cleared on request and used for personal items (pop, etc.). Standard safe (you can use your room key if you want). Only 1 outlet in the room, and 1 in the bathroom, so come prepared if you have a lot of devices that need charging. Water temperature and pressure in the bathroom was good. The bathroom looked outdated.

Cabin 8A

Location has good and bad. Good: Close to the stairs to go up and down. It is essentially mid-ship (both from a horizontal and vertical perspective) - you don't feel the motion of the ship at all. Bad: The 'ding' of the elevators was audible.Condition of the cabin: Generally good. Some rust showing on the balcony floor edge. Carpet is in OK condition, but really needs to be replaced soon (or get a through steam cleaning). Bathroom was missing a fixture and looked a bit outdated.
